In the previous chapter, we saw Ray start on a risky journey through snow-covered mountains. He can’t seem to get out of this cold, not even with these incredibly thick clothes on. Ray finds an odd-looking tree as he searches the area for fuel. He starts to consider setting up camp as the blizzard gets harder.
He determines it’s suitable for a fire despite its peculiar appearance. To his surprise, though, the tree starts talking! There is more to the tree than meets the eye; he is perceiving a Dryad, a forest spirit. Ray’s early assumptions are met with hostility from The Dryad, who inquires as to Ray’s divinity.
Desperate for strength, the Dryad offers Ray some of his heavenly abilities in return for its support. Ray grudgingly acknowledges that he is a Saint and that he has supernatural abilities. After this surprising encounter, there’s an interesting chapter ahead. Let’s see when chapter 70 of To Hell With Being A Saint, I’m A Doctor is going to be released, the timings, and where to read it.
Recap
Ray, the protagonist of “To Hell With Being A Saint, I’m A Doctor,” finds himself in a snow-covered alpine region in Chapter 69. Ray is quite cold, even with his magic and heated garments. Ray is not used to the drastic changes in the weather that have occurred recently. Ray doesn’t have any firewood, but he still wants to start a fire. It is getting dark with a blizzard, so he is considering halting and making camp.
He decides to use the odd tree he discovers as fuel. But then this tree speaks to him and tells him to let go. The tree in the region turns out to be a Dryad, a forest spirit. The Dryad is disturbed since Ray mistook the tree for a monster. When asked if he is divine, Ray says that he is a Saint with unique talents. Ray is curious about the Dryad’s power-sharing.
Because of the importance of Dryads to the forest elves, Ray gives it some thought. He sees a chance to get their support for his cause and possibly even get them to avoid him while he’s out searching. Zeke might require strength, but he doesn’t know how to give the Dryad more strength. Ray is surprised because he thought the Dryad needed assistance.
According to the Dryad’s explanation, people use black magic to ruin his woodland and his house. The Dryad appreciates Ray’s offer to assist him in getting back to his woodland. They resume their trek the following day and discover they have arrived in elf land. Ray requests permission from the High Elves to meet with them. The human is told to leave by the elves, who are not happy to see him.
Ray becomes irate, and then the High Elf Cherci appears. She resembles Ray’s acquaintance, Aira. When Cherci questions Ray about his purpose for visiting their town, Ray starts to explain it. Cherci recognizes Ray’s earrings as being from their town the moment she sees them. Ray claims they were presents from a swordmaster in the Lessian Empire. She insists on knowing how Ray obtained them.
The Elves are upset about this since they view the Lessian Empire as their adversaries. There is a sense of unease as the story comes to a close, leaving us to wonder what will happen next. In “To Hell With Being A Saint, I’m A Doctor,” Chapter 69, Ray finds himself on a snow-covered mountain, feeling quite cold despite his thick clothing. He is having trouble seeing because of the weather due to a blizzard.
He chooses to start a fire with an unusual tree because there isn’t any firewood available. But hey, shock! Ray converses with the tree and discovers that it is a Dryad and not a monster. Because Ray believed it to be a monster, the Dryad is not pleased. Ray acknowledges that he is a Saint with extraordinary abilities when it asks whether he is. Ray can get assistance from the Dryad if he grants him some of his abilities.
Ray muses over how crucial it is that the forest elves have Dryads. But he doesn’t know how to make the Dryad stronger, and the Dryad implies Zeke could require assistance. Ray had no idea the Dryad would want assistance. The Dryad tells how dark magic caused mankind to damage their forest and cause them to lose their home.
When he promises to help the Dryad return to its woodland the next day, Ray realizes that they have landed in Elf territory as they continue their journey. The Elves don’t want to see humans, so Ray asks for permission to meet them. They command him to leave. When Ray sees Cherci, the High Elf, he feels upset.
She makes Ray think of Aira, one of his favorite characters. Ray starts to explain his reason for coming to their town when Cherci asks him. Cherci notices Ray’s earrings; they are a treasure from her tribe.
Since Ray says they were a gift from a swordmaster in the Lessian Empire, she is curious about how he got them. The idea that the Lessian Empire is their enemy incites the Elves to fury. As the chapter comes to an end, tension mounts, and we start to wonder what will happen next.
