CD Projekt Red’s upcoming The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered will feature the work of one of the game’s best-known modders, HalkHogan. The creator of the popular The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project NextGen Edition has confirmed that he is working directly with the studio and that his improved assets will become part of the official remaster.
HalkHogan announced the collaboration in an update on his mod’s page on Nexus Mods. He confirmed that his work will officially arrive in The Witcher 3 Remastered when the game launches on September 29, 2026, for PC and consoles.
HalkHogan Says Players Will No Longer Need His Witcher 3 Mod
The modder told fans that his separate HD Reworked Project would no longer be necessary after the remaster launches.
“HDRP will no longer be needed,”
HalkHogan said, explaining that his work has now been incorporated into the official version of the RPG.
According to his statement, the remaster includes reworked versions of
“almost all in-game characters, monsters, animals, vegetation, armors and equipment for Geralt and Roach,”
along with a large part of the game’s environment.

“I’ve put a lot of effort into ensuring the highest quality,”
he added.
The HD Reworked Project became one of the most popular visual mods for The Witcher 3, with thousands of reworked textures, models, materials, and other assets. Its official integration means the remaster will include improvements that were previously available only to players who installed the mod themselves.
CD Projekt Red officially announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered at gamescom Opening Night Live. The updated version will launch on September 29, 2026, bringing visual, performance, gameplay, and other improvements to the acclaimed 2015 RPG.
The remaster will be a free upgrade for existing owners on qualifying platforms, while Nintendo Switch 2 players will receive a native version of the game. CD Projekt Red has also confirmed that Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine will be included, giving fans another complete reason to return to Geralt’s world.
