Back Brad Katona, a bantamweight, trained with Conor McGregor’s camp in Ireland in the previous episode, but he was selected to be a part of Team Chandler, which led several of his teammates to question his allegiances and get irritated with the former Ultimate Fighter champion.

Recap Of The Ultimate Fighter Season 31 Episode 10

The title of the episode was “Just Win, Baby.” The Canadian will now compete against his old colleague Timur Valiev in the first bantamweight semifinal fight to become the first person to win The Ultimate Fighter twice.

According to Dana White, Katona was the only fighter to switch allegiances after having the option to do so. Katona rolls into the APEX to thank Chandler and the coaching staff for all of their help and time earlier in the season before entering the squad McGregor dressing room and joining his new squad in practice.

McGregor teaches the group to execute slow kick patterns while standing on an elbow that is placed on the floor during balance drills. Katona works out with mitts with the assistance of the trainer Owen Roddy as he talks about how exercising with this group is like “jet fuel for my soul” and how comfy everything is.

The former two-division world champion presents him with a Team McGregor jersey to formally announce his move. While talking about what Katona brings to the Octagon in a confessional interview, Valiev engages in a striking practice session with trainer Jason Strout.

He claims Katona, who he thinks would attempt to hold him against the fence, is inferior to him everywhere and that he is better overall.

The UFC lightweight expresses how having trained with Katona earlier in the competition gives him an advantage when it comes to knowing what he does best and where he is strongest.

The UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev visits the APEX to see Valiev. Valiev comments on how nice it was to speak Russian for the first time in a few weeks when posing for photos with Makhachev and the Basharat Brothers at the UFC PI. Makhachev compliments his friend’s skills.

He thinks it’s up to Katona to refute their assertions that his victory against Carlos Vera in the quarterfinals wasn’t exhilarating and that he was “wrongfully released” from the UFC the first time.

He sees the contest with Valiev as a crucial opportunity to prove why he deserves to remain on the team in the future. As they continue their practice with Coach Roddy, he calls Valiev aside and describes him as the tournament’s best bantamweight.
