During their game against the New Jersey Devils on Thursday, the Toronto Maple Leafs paid a heartfelt tribute. At Scotiabank Arena, the team paid tribute to late prospect Rodion Amirov, who was joined by his family.

Maple Leafs Pay Tribute
The Maple Leafs selected Amirov with the 15th overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. He inked a three-year entry-level deal with Toronto in April 2021. He went back to Russia to play in the KHL with the Salavat Yulaev Ufa in 2021–2022.
In February 2022, it was discovered that the Russian forward had a brain tumor. He fought a courageous struggle, but sadly, last August, at the young age of 21, he passed away. Amirov’s family, wearing his jersey, receives a standing ovation.
