Cheryl’s uncle rebels and ends up killing her older brother, who she loves and looks up to. Things aren’t looking good for her as her uncle is determined to kill her as well, but she is mysteriously saved by the handsome Felix. Felix is the lord of the Blaire Castle and swoops in, proposing a fake engagement to keep her safe from her uncle. Before this, Felix was just her older brother’s friend, but now he’s becoming her betrothed and savior all at once.

Previously in the manhwa, Cheryl sneaks into Neus Castle, where Maxwell Donovan is, in an attempt to save him. Maxwell tells Cheryl to leave since he plans on killing himself in order to raise suspicion against Cheryl’s uncle. He had masterfully chalked up Melvin and Maxwell’s grandfather’s death as a suicide, so this was the only way Maxwell could try to change things. Cheryl is adamant and refuses to let Maxwell sacrifice himself for uncertain results.

Cheryl had planned escape using the Mage of Neus, Logan, and his disciple Ted so when guards start rushing to the entrance, Cheryl gets nervous that they were caught. Cheryl and Maxwell rush out of prison to see what has happened when they see a familiar Knight standing in front of them. Cheryl asks the Knight if he is going to kill them or hand them over to her uncle, but the Knight just says that the letter found its rightful owner since she’s here.
