Excited for the release of The Tetris Murders Episodes 1 to 3? Of course, you are; I am too. Hence you are at the right place to learn all about it. You might have played the Tetris game, where we had to arrange falling colored blocks, and it was fun. And now it belongs to the “not boring” category, a drastic variation.
The Tetris game was developed in the 1980s by a group of Soviet-Russian entrepreneurs and software engineers. Vladimir Ivanovich Pokhilko was a friend of the creator of the Tetris game, Alexey Pajitnov. Pokhilko excelled in studying computer-human interaction and conducted psychological experiments with the game. These experiments further helped in the marketing of the Tetris game.
Vladimir and Alexey 1989 started a 3D software technology company named AnimaTek, based in Moscow. Vladimir was married to Elena Fedotova and had a son Peter. On September 22nd, 1998, the entire Vladimir family was found dead in their home in Palo Alto, California, all stabbed.
The Tetris Murders depicts the views and findings of Crime Scene Investigator Sandra Brown, who reveals facts unknown at the time. Let’s see what we have on this Crazy Legs Productions docuseries of the death of the Tetris games’ co-developer.
What Makes The Tetris Murders a Mystery?
CSI Sandra Brown of the Palo Alto Police Department investigated the crime scenes on September 22nd, 1998. At first, the crime was deduced as murder and suicide. Vladimir first killed his wife, Elena (38), and then his son Peter (12), after which he killed himself. And the reason was put on as “financial difficulties at the company,” which caused severe suffering and the murder-suicide.
At the crime scene, a note was found with the words, “I’ve been eaten alive. Vladimir. Just remember that I exist. The davil,” as described by Sgt. Scott Wong of the Police Department. The note is very intriguing; the police didn’t classify this as a suicide note and sent it to the FBI for further investigation. Palo Alto Police department found no reason that it wasn’t a suicide murder, and there was no sign of forced entry.
The Police Department considered the case closed and reasoned that Vladimir Ivanovich Pokhilko was driven into despair due to the financial condition of AnimaTek. They wrote their report and submitted it to the District Attorney’s office. It is believed that the Attorney’s office wasn’t satisfied with the result.
Sandra Brown also had her suspicions regarding the physical and forensic evidence, believing it might have been part of a bigger plot. FBI‘s keen interest in a murder-suicide investigation makes it even more suspicious. Stories also present an unsettling Russian influence over the mystery or crime.
What Is The Tetris Murder Docuseries About?
In the series, Sandra Brown and the Palo Alto Police Department of the time revisit the scene, verifying the evidence once again and providing their views. Will it provide more information, or was it a suicide murder all along, or something even more sinister? We will get the answers in a few days, won’t we?
