Something that was accepted by everyone in the trio without much questioning, and the way they joked around it was rather immature. Though, slavery is downplayed in fantasy plots and many times shows a lack of empathy.

The Secret Life of a Certain Count’s Lady Chapter 47 started with the usual short flashback. The blonde companion (that was once promised by the god) had a slave dies in his arms. He wasn’t even mortified, showed no emotion on his face, and wanted to keep focusing on the grand mission.
They then have to face the stereotypical minor villains that have come to fetch the dead slave back to their place. How come nobody has pointed out that they are always of the same category and are ugly is a mystery of the universe. One thing is for sure the standard of internal beauty doesn’t apply to them for sure. Or there is some manhwa that doesn’t follow this rule.
Back to the main story, Lili later suggests that she should be used as bait. The other two were against it, but instead of better ideas, they decided on which one would be best for bait. What followed was a bit of unhinged jokes and narcissism that we hope won’t be available in the next chapter.

But meh, detours are always nice to have, and there is nothing wrong with this one as it deals with one of the grave issues of society.
Despite the manhwa not handling its start well with the beginning of the short arc, it doesn’t define it will be like that in its entirety. Though, they won’t be dealing with much resistance in helping the people that have been sold into slavery. And the conclusion of the story will then lead to them being on the trail of mana once again, without repercussion at that.
