Another exciting chapter for The Planned First Kiss Manhwa, and this time, Lydia has proven her resolve to all the fans. There are not many people who would reject a box full of gold just because they want to get rich on their own, but Lydia is not like that. Lydia has decided not to depend on the Emperor and get rich by selling flowers. How will Lydia achieve this milestone? We’ll see updates of The Planned First Kiss in the future!
The Planned First Kiss Chapter 17 opens up with Mar telling Lydia to just give up on selling the flower because he thinks that it’s suspicious. He further explains that the flower ended up at Lydia’s house, which means that someone must know about it, but still, everyone acts as if they’re unaware of it, which means that the flower is not worth selling.
Recap
Lydia gets furious at Mar because of his rude remarks, as Mar doesn’t even know much about the star flowers to begin with. Lydia tells Mar that anyone who ignores the star flower must not have good taste, but she’s certain that she can make a fortune out of these flowers.
Suddenly, Lydia hears the doorbell sound, and so she goes downstairs after instructing Mar to stay in the room until the servants are gone. Lydia finds that all her supplies have been delivered. The servant asks Lydia where he should put her dress and books, and Lydia tells him to just leave everything as it is for now.
The reason why Lydia tells the servant to leave everything is because she wants to make Mar move all her supplies as a punishment for him being rude to her. Lydia then notices that she also received gold in her supplies, so she inquires about it with the servant. The Servant tells Lydia that she has a lot of money left in her budget, and so it has been allocated to her in gold.
Lydia wonders how she had money left in her account because she used the same amount that she used every time. She thinks that the prices of everything must have gone down. The Servant then asks for Lydia’s permission to leave now that he has finished his job, and Lydia agrees with him.
Mar finally comes downstairs after the servant leaves, and Lydia immediately orders him to take out her books and dresses. It’s quite cute how Mar listened to Lydia’s command, but Lydia wouldn’t let him off the hook that easily. Her menacing smile while ordering Mar is too funny.
One of the books that Lydia has got this time is “A Comprehensive Guide to the Etiquettes of Nobility” because she felt the need to learn some etiquettes after meeting Princess Eurycena. Mar asks Lydia if she got the dress for the same reason, and Lydia agrees with him. She explains that she needs to have a design that’s in style these days.
Mar asks Lydia if she looked at all the supplies, so she decides to take a look at the gold she received. She tells Mar that it shouldn’t be much, but to her surprise, she finds a box filled with gold coins. Lydia is shocked by such an insane amount of gold and thinks that it must be a mistake.
Mar feels happy and tells Lydia that she’s finally rich, but Lydia still can’t get over the shock of receiving such a huge amount. She wonders if the Emperor has lost his mind because he’s giving so much money to one of his low-ranking concubines. Lydia’s main concern is that all this money comes from the taxpayers, and the Emperor is just spending it so casually.
Mar explains to Lydia that the concubine’s budget also falls under the Imperial palace’s budget so it’s unlikely that the Emperor would increase the tax just because he gave a lot of gold to Lydia. Lydia still considers the Emperor a tyrant who casually spends people’s hard-earned money.
Mar tells Lydia that she can now finally open a flower shop, but Lydia argues that she doesn’t want to get rich off of the money of someone she hates. She believes that this money should be used somewhere else.
Lydia further explains that she doesn’t want to be a rich concubine; she wants to get rich on her own by selling flowers. Lydia decides to just return the money when the next batch arrives as she doesn’t want to get affected by wealth. Mar gets rather annoyed, but there’s nothing he can do, so he goes along with Lydia’s wishes.
