One of the most anticipated moments has finally come to pass as Gaeun and Siwan go out on their first date. Their first kiss may have been unintentional, but now Siwan has expressed his desire to be able to kiss Gaeun any time. Siwan has taken the initiative to step up his relationship with Gaeun, but Gaeun is still not prepared, so we await an official response from her on this relationship. Will it finally happen? Or will it take some more effort? We’ll see in the upcoming chapters.
Some misunderstandings also arose in the previous chapters, which need clearing. Siwan has taken Gaeun’s mixed reaction as a challenge, and so he’s determined to win no matter what. Gaeun’s friends have also jumped in and made things even more confusing as they texted Siwan on behalf of Gaeun.
Siwan has considered such a text as a mockery which is bad considering he just started having feelings for Gaeun. Will these two troubled individuals ever get on good terms? Only future chapters can confirm this for us.
The Odd One Next Door Chapter 47: Recap
The Odd One Next Door Chapter 47 followed up with what the previous chapters left, and that is a date between Gaeun and Siwan. Siwan takes Gaeun to a place that seems to be a shrine, and Gaeun looks extremely happy about it as she commends the environment and nature of the place.
Siwan asks Gaeun if she likes his idea, and she agrees wholeheartedly. She also wonders how difficult it would’ve been to get the tickets to such a crowded place. Gaeun remembers Siwan’s gift, which was a photo from her childhood, so she asks Siwan how he knew about it and if her dad showed it to him.
Siwan says that he saw the photo when he went for drinks last time, but it was tattered, and so he decided to restore it. Siwan considers that it’s not a big deal. It means a lot to Gaeun and she thanks him for doing that. Siwan asks Gaeun about her opinion of the two of them, and she says that they are two people getting to know each other but Siwan disagrees and asks her again.
Gaeun goes silent, and so Siwan holds her hand and tells her that he wants to hold her hand forever. He then proceeds to kiss her, which makes Gaeun flustered, and he tells her that he wants to be able to kiss her or meet her at any time.
Siwan asks Gaeun if she would like to go out with him again the next day, but she refuses as she has some work to do, which crushes Siwan’s soul, and he says it’s fine with a soulless smile. Siwan returns home but finds himself unable to focus on work as he keeps thinking about how Gaeun could have fun without him and makes it a challenge for himself. Meanwhile, Gaeun goes out with her friends after a long time.
Gaeun’s friends discuss how they lose a friend every time they get together, and now Gaeun and Minjung are the only ones left who are not dating anyone. They state that whoever gets married last will be twice as lonely, and so Gaeun and Minjung should try harder. Gaeun gives a faint smile while Minjung shouts how her dating life sucks. Her friends ask her if she’s seeing someone, and so Gaeun tells them that there is someone she is interested in.
Gaeun’s answer shocks everyone as they shower her with questions about the guy and ask her why she hasn’t told them about it yet. Gaeun says that she is thinking about dating someone, but he’s a bit eccentric, which makes people think badly about him. Gaeun’s friends ask her if she’s sure that this guy is a good person if people call him bad, and suddenly everyone starts questioning her about the guy’s nature and character, which just strengthens Gaeun’s point even more that people tend to get the wrong image of Siwan.
