This achievement marks the first time a film from the Case Closed franchise has exceeded 10 million ticket sales in its 27-year history. By May 27, The Million-dollar Pentagram had already set a new record as the highest-grossing film within the franchise.
Additionally, the film’s earnings have secured its position as the 16th top-grossing film of all time in Japan. It has surpassed the earnings of Makoto Shinkai’s 2019 film Weathering With You, which earned 14.23 billion yen (90.38 million USD).
