The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers Season 2 Episode 2 “Out Of Bounds” Recap:
The Ducks were excited to show off their skills during the first full day of EPIC, despite the irritating 5 am wake-up call horn. Thanks to performance wristbands, every camper was seen as an individual by Coach Cole, who is partly a psychopath. Their abilities are listed on a screen in the middle of the room, allowing the kids to view every rival. It’s a lucrative opportunity, and it sounds like an excellent use of resources as well as a wonderfully ruthless experience for kids!
EPIC does not use center time in a fun way. Instead, the kids are put through a lot of hassle. With VR Hockey simulations, players are constantly considering and evaluating their options from on-ice choices. Conditioning not only helps players build stamina for the game but also provides them with skills that could potentially save their lives. Coach Rufus’s nutrition class is different from any other. He doesn’t provide his students with the usual HerbalLife seminar instead, he serves them pizza. This is a lot for Nick, especially.
The premiere episode made it clear that this was not the right place for him. He doesn’t like how demanding the center is and would rather spend time with his friends in a less intense setting while still playing hockey.
The final day is a “Dead Man’s Run,” in which the campers run for miles. After Nick gets lost, he decides the best course of action is to run away. He’s had enough and is ready to retire from skating. The coaches don’t seem to notice the madness in Nick’s eyes, and Evan appears remote to him, so Nick says goodbye and runs all the way up that hill to a Hilton Garden Inn.
Alex quickly finds him as he helplessly reveals his fear and how Shattered he is. When Emma says Nick should return because he’s scared, she means it; however, she is adamant about not forcing him to make that decision.
In the end, Nick decided to return, continuing his EPIC journey.
