The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 5 Episode 7 Recap – A House Full of Extremely Lame Horses
Back in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 5 Episode 7, titled A House Full of Extremely Lame Horses, we saw that Janusz is not happy with the fact that Zelda is helping the Maisel household at all. As for Abe, he is very unhappy that his grandson Ethan is not like other Weisman men. The child is not academically gifted but only remains happy, which is unacceptable to him.
Danny Stevens is a popular Comic TV Star at the time who comes on to guest star at The Gordon Ford Show. Stevens meets with Midge and is very happy with the way she handled the script. Thus, we see her getting a lucrative writing job at the series. Gordon, who is not happy with the same, had to forcefully increase Midge’s salary equivalent to the rest of the male employees on the writing team.
Although, producer Mike Carr absolutely refuses to have Midge on the show. Thus, Susie comes in and tries to take Midge over to Jack Paar’s private comedy show. Even though she manages to impress everyone with her skills, Jack Paar declines to have her on the show, saying that he doe snot know how to market a “funny, pretty girl.” This makes Midge very frustrated as she breaks down in her home.
Later, we see that Abe is shocked to find out that Esther is the genius of the duo rather than Ethan. Then we also see a flashforward moment where Midge’s career is somehow more stable than before. She is seen telling Susie to book a tour in Australia. This is all happening in 1973 when she is trying to fund her mother’s romance emporium, which is not performing as well and not bringing in much revenue for the family.
