Leon’s knight is up against not another random NPC but a warrior of Helcan, an orc far bigger than him. Not just that, Balbazar, the orc, also has magic that cancels his divine laws to remove his trump card from the playing field.
We saw the orc’s army challenged to a duel by Leon in one of the earlier chapters.
