The six-day Emmy Awards 2023-nominated ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ has been renewed for its new season. Hudson was also named the outstanding host in a talk, news, or information series or special at the 2023 NAACP Image Awards. As the show has noticed a growth in viewers to 13% among the ages of 18–34, along with an average of 4.4 million total P2+, the new season of the show has been announced.
A new daytime show was about to be released by Debmar-Mercury, starring ‘The Masked Singer’ host Ken Jeong, but since the news of the Jennifer Hudson renewal has come out, the idea has been pulled off by them from the marketplace.

Frank Chicha, the executive VP of programming for Fox Television Stations, has announced that the Jennifer Hudson show has been renewed for a third season. The Jennifer Hudson Show has also been renewed by Hearst Television.
Earlier, Debmar-Mercury had plans of starting a daytime show that would be hosted by Ken Jeong, but as a result of the Jennifer Hudson renewal, the idea was pulled from the market, and the Debmar-Mercury said, “We know Ken is A+ talent, reserving an A+ lineup, and market conditions did not afford us an opportunity at this time,” in a statement.
As for now, they’ve put this matter in the basket of future opportunities by saying, “We will monitor the market for future Ken opportunities.” The real planning behind Debmar-Mercury’s plan was to get a slot for Ken Jeong on the Fox stations, where they already run a Debmar-Mercury-produced talk show, Sherri, which is still being aired.
Normally, Fox tends to programme only two or three big talk shows, and then the others are given to low-cost programming such as a coat game and entertainment, but when the renewal of Jennifer Hudson came in, Fox got full of talk show slots along with cash license fees, leaving no slot for the Ken Jeong show.

There has also been an impressive growth in the audience of the show on social platforms, where the increase on Instagram has been 438% with 44 million impressions, 53 million impressions, and 300% on Facebook in the months of November and December. According to Warner Bros., there has also been an increase in viewers on YouTube, where the show has gotten to a point of 63 million views in the same time frame.
While announcing her show, Jennifer had shared, “There is nothing I love more than watching people come together in positivity on one accord, sharing humanity and our stories, learning from each other, and celebrating one another.” as her show is getting renewed.
She also went on to say how blessed she feels to have this platform where every single day what they do is experience life to the foolish, laugh out loud, cry joyful tears, dance with the best they can, and also sing their hearts out.
The chairman and CEO, Channing Dungey, said, “Jennifer is a red talent both in front of and behind the camera; her enthusiasm and enjoying demeanor radiate from the stage and on to television screens everywhere” in a statement. He also said that “it’s no wonder her audience continues to skyrocket.” while appreciating Hudson’s work as a host.
The show has been produced by JHUD Productions in addition to Warner Bros Unscripted Television in association with telepictures and distributed in national syndication by Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution. The executive producers of the Jennifer Hudson show are Hudson, Mary Connelly, Andy Lassner, and Walter Williams III, along with LaNeé Gryphon as a co-executive producer of the show.
As of now, the cast list of the show for this season includes Maria Carey, the cast of ‘The Colour Purple with producer Oprah Winfrey, Demi Lovato, Octavia Spencer, Matthew McConaughey, and Adam Sandler. The upcoming guests are going to be Kaley Cuoco, Common, Snoop Dogg, and Chrissy Teigen.
