The Interest of Love, also known as Understanding of Love is a K-drama based on the novel Sarangui Ihae (사랑의 이해) written by Lee Hyuk- Jin.
Giving a real perspective to love and romance amid a bank setting, The Interest of Love does a great job in delivering the struggles and efforts it takes to have and maintain a romantic relationship. With the characters struggling with miscommunication and a series of uncalled for events, this K-drama gives it’s audience the raw reality of finding love in this industrial world.
The drama showcases the spontaneous nature of love: it’s not something one can suppress, but rather what comes natural to oneself. So, despite the variable circumstances and effort one has to put into love, in the end, it’s all worth it.
Aiming to release the standard 16 episodes, The Interest of Love has been well received by the public with its new approach to love yet still bringing in parts of the classing K-drama romance that has everyone hooked!
Synopsis
This intense romantic melodrama starring actors like Yoo Yeon-Seok, Mun Ga-Young, Geum Sae-Rok and Jung Ga-Ram, The Interest of Love revolves around of 4 Bank employees struggling to find a balance between their work life and personal life, with hopes of finding love.
Facing day to day problems in their work and adjusting to its busy and hectic nature, these 4 have problems of their own too. The complicated situations they’re often faced with, that does not at all pair well with the labour work they do at the bank. In this exhausting period of time, they somehow manage to find something that brings them back to life – love!
With comedic relief following in bits and pieces among their stressful lifestyle, The Interest of Love brings together these unique personalities and somehow, they fit perfectly together!
Recap of The Interest of Love Episode 14
Episode 14 of The Interest of Love begins with Su-Yeong (Moon Ga-Young) drying herself after being caught in the rain. Sang-Su, who was with her the whole time was waiting outside as she fixed herself. She later comes out and hands Snag-Su a towel so he can dry himself too. The both of them are later seen conversing, with hopes of them being together in the latter future.
Su-Yeong is conflicted on what she wants. After getting soaked in the rain, she decides to take a leave the next day, and is visited by Sang-Su after work.
In work the next day, Mi-Gyeong (Keum Sae-Reok) finds out the real reason as to why her and Gyeong-Pil ( Moon Tae-Yoo) had to break up- when her father, Chairman Park found out that Gyeong-Pil’s dad was actually an ex-convict, he refused to hand her daughter to the hands of an ex convict’s son.
The episode goes on with finding closure in general. Between Mi-Gyeong and Gyeong-Pil, between Su-Yeong and Mi-Gyeong and their shared dislikement towards each other ending with sincere apologies, Jong-Hyeon and Su-Yeong finally parting ways from their former relationship as did Mi-Gyeong and Sng-Su.
Finally, towards the end of the episode, Sang-Su confesses his feelings to Su-Gyeong, and how he would’ve much rather told her how he felt, if it wasn’t for all the mishaps and events that occured during that time frame! The both of them however have a different definition of happiness, and their plans for the future are quite contrasting from the other.
The episode ends with Su-Gyeong giving in her resignation, and Sang-Su finding an empty apartment, with all of Su-Yeong’s furniture cleared out.
