The Hype is an American reality television series hosted by Speedy Morman that features the country’s greatest streetwear fashion designers. The designers are fighting for the judges’ “co-sign” and a $150,000 cash award. The series debuted on HBO Max on August 12, 2021. The series was renewed for a second season. HBO Max has published the teaser for The Hype Season 2, which features the return of co-signers Offset, Bephie Birkett, and Marni Senofonte.
The streetwear competition will begin on Thursday, September 22, with three episodes, followed by three more episodes on September 29, culminating with the final two episodes on October 6.

About ‘The Hype’
Young, ambitious designers are put to the ultimate test in The Hype, which examines their artistic talent and business grit. The designers must create ready-to-wear pieces that balance art and commerce while remaining true to their vision to compete for a chance at a career-changing Co-Sign, a $150,000 cash prize, and having their designs sold exclusively on StockX, the top platform for trading and consuming contemporary culture. Twelve upcoming streetwear designers compete in the series to show off their innovative creations and grit in business to establish their brand as the next big thing in fashion and deserving of the buzz.
Several notable guests will make appearances throughout the season, including DJ Khaled, Dapper Dan, Law Roach, 24KGoldn, Bobby Hundreds, Rhuigi, Angelo Baque, Blacc Sam, BH, Paul Rodriguez, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. In one of the episodes, as shown in the teaser, The Offset will also welcome some special guest stars as his children join him.
Speedy will also return and host the eight-episode second season of the reality series competition. The Hype is executive produced by Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith, Cassie Lambert Scalettar, Ashley Baumann-Sylvester, Renata Lombardo, and Kiari “Offset” Cephus, as well as David Collins, Michael Williams, Rob Eric, Rachelle Mendez, Rikki Hughes, Jay Brown, and Tyran. Hughes is the showrunner.

Initially, the designers were given 24 hours to express their distinct take on luxury streetwear to impress style legend Law Roach and guest Co-Signers 24kGoldn and season one finalist Kai Nguyen. Tasked with reinventing the preppy fashion trend, the designers developed their creative vision to produce a fresh twist on the famous style; fashion creator Angelo Baque dropped by to offer a once-in-a-lifetime cooperation opportunity.
The competitors went to the skate park to create costumes for professional skaters that combine natural street style with agility and comfort. The participants pulled inspiration from Marathon Clothing’s creator, Nipsey Hussle, to build legendary streetwear essentials with the help of Marathon Clothing’s Blacc Sam and BH.
In a collaborative test, the designers are paired up to develop new looks for what may be their most demanding clientele yet: Offset’s children, when the designers are asked to create a cool pre-game look for NBA player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the world of streetwear and athletics clash.
