The series will throw light on the real-life events that happened back in 2010 which alarmed the whole nation. These police operations and task forces were appointed in the country in order to catch a very dangerous fugitive named Raoul Moat.
He killed several people and fled the city after doing so to Northumbria. Several people were also wounded by him and it became a matter of emergency in order to save the innocent civilians from his reach. It is still considered one of the biggest manhunts that were organized in Britain. The entire series will focus on how the police got hold of the man.
Raoul Moat used to work as a bouncer and a bodybuilder. After being released from prison, he shot three people. Thus, there will be three episodes in this mini-series only. Throughout these episodes, we will witness the innocent victims who were caught in the whole thing and the crimes that Moat committed. These three individuals were Christopher Brown, PC Davis Rathband, and Samantha Stobbart.
Also, we will come across the brave police officers who put their lives at risk in order to get Moat behind bars. They were all caught up in a firing line and wanted to catch Moat. One other person will also be seen in this show. It is the journalist who took it upon themselves in order to reveal the whole entire story of Moat and what kind of a person he is.

A cast has also been agreed upon by the creators. In the lead, we will witness Lee Ingleby reprising the role of Northumbria Police Officer Neil Adamson. Then, we will also see actress Sonya Cassidy enact the character of Diane Barnwell, the local journalist who was involved in the same.
As for the dangerous criminal, Matt Stokoe will play his part. Also, there were various controversies during the time of the crimes that were committed by Moat and the investigation that ran through after that. One of the facts that stood out was the involvement of Paul Gascoigne in the entire thing. Although, the series will not include the same in this series.
The true story happened back on the 1st of July 2010. It was when Moat was released from prison. He was put behind bars for a short period of 18 weeks because they had assaulted a nine-year-old relative. It was claimed that the man was prone to eruptions of anger.
As soon as he was released from prison, he went to his ex-girlfriend’s place where he shares a daughter. She is Stobbart who was living with her new partner named Brown who worked as a karate instructor. Here, he shot him with a close-range shotgun that immediately killed Brown. As for Stobbart, the shots fired at her did not cause any fatal wounds and she managed to survive the attack.
