The Harder They Fall has been released in the theatres just now and gives us some of the very wholesome vibes from the entire plot. Jaymes Samuel has directed the story and even worked on the script along with Boaz Yakin. The lead roles of this story are bagged up by Jonathan Majors as well as Idris Elba and Deon Cole. Well, you guys should know that this is one of the very few Western films whose lead protagonists are all black. Inspiration has also arrived from lawmen as well as outlaws who once lived during the American West of the 19th century.
The film starts with Nat Love as he is having dinner with his parents. This is the moment when Rufus Buck comes in along with his gang inside their house and kills his parents. The men carve a cross onto his forehead. Then we are fast-forwarded to a couple of years later when Love has grown to be a fine young man. He is now an outlaw and even killed one of the gang members in revenge. He has partnered up with two men named Bill Pickett, who is a sharpshooter. And then he has a quick draw named Jim Beckwourth. They have ambushed another gang recently and stole their haul from a recent bank robbery.
Later, we see that Love has gone on to meet his former lover Mary Fields who is the owner of a bunch of saloons. The gang, which is led by Buck, is now given over to Trudy Smith. He quickdraws Cherokee Bill and ambushes a train on which Buck is going on. They all return to their home of Redwood, where Trudy has a saloon. When Buck comes back, he finds almost everything in disorder. He left Escoe in charge of the place that misused his position at the expense of the town. He beats him and orders him to leave the town.
Buck then gathers the people of the town and explains how they all need a total of 50,000 Dollars in order to save the town. He proposes the idea of a tax to raise this kind of money. Soon, he realizes that the people of the town will never be able to raise such a high amount. As for Field’s saloon, we see that Marshal Bass Reeves is ready to arrest Love and removes him in handcuffs. This was just an act so that they could go together to hunt down Buck without having to tell Love’s gang. Buck gets pardoned, and this makes Reeves angry given the fact that Love wants to exact his revenge.
