The Guns N’ Roses concert that was supposed to happen on Saturday at Busch Stadium has been pushed to a later date. The cameras from BJC Skycams that were aimed at Busch Stadium on Friday afternoon seem to indicate that they are removing the stage. The Cardinals organization sent an email explaining that the postponement of the concert was due to an illness.
People who have tickets for the concert should keep them until a new date is announced. Many Guns N’ Roses fans learned about the postponement after they had already traveled to St. Loius.
Carla King and her partner had bought VIP tickets and a hotel, and they had driven more than 10 hours from Michigan to attend the show. Carla said they would make the best of it by exploring St.Loius and visiting the Arch and that she was not angry with the musicians. She hoped to return in a few weeks if the concert gets rescheduled.
Some are disappointed with Guns N’ Roses postponement
Certain downtown businesses were unhappy that the concert crowd did not come to town for the weekend, especially because the St. Louis Cardinals were not in the playoffs. Steve Webb, the Broadway Manager, explained that business has been slower than usual in August and September. The cancellation of the concert was another setback for him and his staff.
He mentioned that having a full restaurant with people waiting is usually a positive thing for business. Webb also mentioned with a bit of humor that Axl Rose, the lead singer of the band, has had a somewhat rocky relationship with St. Louis.
He recalled an incident from 1991 when a riot erupted at one of the band’s concerts at the Riverport Amphitheater. This happened because Rose had jumped into the crowd to grab a camera from a fan, and the fan claimed that Rose had punched him.

Webb made a playful comment, suggesting that perhaps Axl Rose is still holding onto the events of 30 years ago, but he added it with humor.
The Gateway Grizzlies, a minor league baseball team, is trying to make the best of the situation by offering free tickets to Saturday’s home playoff game for fans who were disappointed by the concert postponement.
They posted on Facebook, inviting those who had concert tickets to come “rock with the Grizzlies instead,” giving them a chance to enjoy their Saturday night outside the house.
More about Guns N’ Roses
Guns N’ Roses is a rock band hailing from Los Angeles, California, and it was formed in March 1985 when two local bands, Hollywood Roses and L.A. Guns, came together.
In 1986, when they signed with Geffen Records, the band’s “classic lineup” included Axl Rose as the vocalist, Slash as the lead guitarist, Izzy Stradlin as the rhythm guitarist, Duff McKagan as the bassist, and Steven Adler as the drummer.
The current line-up features Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan, along with guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer, and keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Melissa Reese.

In their early years, Guns N’ Roses extensively toured the club scene on the West Coast before their Appetite for Destruction Tour. When they released their debut album, “Appetite for Destruction,” in 1987, it did not initially catch on and entered the Billboard 200 chart at a low rank of 182.
However, about a year later, a grassroots campaign to promote the music video for “Welcome to the Jungle” helped propel the band to mainstream popularity.
Both “Welcome to the Jungle” and “Paradise City” became top 10 singles, and “Sweet Child of Mine” even reached the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it the band’s only single to achieve this.
