Prime Video has released the official trailer and key art for The Greatest, an upcoming biographical drama about boxing legend Muhammad Ali. The series will premiere all eight episodes worldwide on November 4, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video, in more than 240 countries and territories.
Starring newcomer Jaalen Best as Cassius Clay, who later became Muhammad Ali, the series follows the legendary boxer’s transformation from a gifted young fighter into one of the most recognizable figures in sports and American history. Rather than focusing exclusively on Ali’s achievements inside the ring, the story explores his personal struggles, political convictions, and determination to define his own identity.
Set against a changing America, The Greatest traces the challenges that shaped Ali’s journey to becoming a world champion and cultural icon. The newly released trailer offers a glimpse of the people, conflicts, and defining moments that influenced his life.
The project is particularly notable because it is the first authorized scripted series chronicling Ali’s life. His wife, Lonnie Ali, serves as an executive producer, bringing a connection to the late boxer’s personal legacy.
JAALEN BEST LEADS THE GREATEST CAST AS CASSIUS CLAY
Jaalen Best takes on the central role, portraying Ali during his early years as Cassius Clay and his evolution into the heavyweight champion known around the world.
The supporting cast includes Omari Hardwick as Cassius Clay Sr., Dana Gourrier as Odessa “Bird” Clay, and Kai Parham as Rudy Clay. Amin Joseph plays boxer Sonny Liston, Giovanni Ribisi portrays trainer Angelo Dundee, and Michael Ealy appears as civil rights leader Malcolm X.
These characters represent different parts of Ali’s life, from his family relationships and boxing career to the political and social issues that shaped his public identity. The series aims to tell a broader story about the man behind the sporting legend.
The Greatest was created by Ben Watkins, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer. Watkins is known for his work on Cross and leads the project through his production company, Blue Monday Productions.

The production brings together several companies, including Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society, Authentic Studios, Roc Nation, Polygram Entertainment, and Grace: A Storytelling Company. Lonnie Ali’s involvement as an executive producer distinguishes the project as an authorized scripted portrayal of the boxer’s life.
Additional executive producers include Outlier Society president Elizabeth Raposo, Authentic Brands Group executives Corey Salter, Matthew Gross, and Marc Rosen, and Roc Nation’s Desiree Perez, alongside other members of the production team.
All eight episodes of The Greatest will arrive on November 4, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video. The series will be available across more than 240 countries and territories, giving international audiences access to the same full-season premiere.
Viewers can watch the official trailer for an early look at Jaalen Best’s portrayal of Ali and the series’ approach to the boxer’s life.
