Shin Ye Eun is considering a role alongside Rowoon in the upcoming historical drama, “Takryu” (romanized title), according to a report by media outlet Hankook Ilbo on February 20. Responding to the news, Shin Ye Eun’s agency, NPIO Entertainment, stated, “She is positively reviewing [the offer] to star in ‘Takryu.'”
The drama has already generated interest as Rowoon’s agency confirmed his involvement in discussions for the male lead role last year. Additionally, actor Park Seoham was reported to be in talks for a role in “Takryu.”
Written by Cheon Sung Il, the acclaimed writer behind “The Slave Hunters,” “Takryu” is set in the Joseon Dynasty and follows the narrative of a man who begins as a gangster at Han River’s Mapo Port, the central hub of logistics and economy during that era. The protagonist evolves into a legendary figure of Joseon solely through his physical prowess.
Meanwhile, Shin Ye Eun is actively preparing for her upcoming drama, “Jeong Nyeon” (romanized title), where she shares the screen with Kim Tae Ri, Ra Mi Ran, and Moon So Ri. Scheduled for release later this year, “Jeong Nyeon” adds to Shin Ye Eun’s diverse portfolio.
As fans eagerly await further developments, it remains to be seen how the casting for “Takryu” will unfold and what dynamic performances these talented actors will bring to the historical drama. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project!
