The Gap Between You And Me Chapter 25 will be the latest installment in the History-Romance-Drama Manhwa. The story follows the life of a country girl who comes to visit her aunt in the big city.
There she meets and falls head over heels for the son of a Duke. The realization that they can never be together makes her go into depression. She moves back to the countryside to forget him. However, he returns to her life in the most unimaginable way possible.
Harrietta Mackenzie is the oldest daughter of the only noble family in the countryside town of Filioche. As she has come of age, her mother sends her to live with her Aunt in Levante so she can have her debut. Harrietta is bored as she leads a very active life at her family home.
Compared to that, going to social events proved to be extremely tedious. At least, that was the case till she met Edwin Redford.
Edwin was the son of Duke Redford, one of the most influential people in Brimdel. Their authority can only be matched by the royal family. She fell for him immediately.
However, her aunt tells her to forget about him immediately as the daughter of a viscount from the countryside will never measure up equal to the son of a duke from the capital. With a heavy heart, she tried to swallow her feelings.
But hearing of his engagement sent her over the edge, leaving her depressed for days. With a heavy heart, she moved back to Filioche. Even after a year, there was not one day that she didn’t think of him.
One day her father returned from conducting business with a new enslaved person. He introduced him to the family as 11542, his slave identification number. To Harrietta’s shock, she realizes that Slave 11542 is Edwin.
Turns out the Royal Family accused the Redford Family of treason. The Crown ordered the execution of all Redfords and Seizing of all their assets.
Since Edwin was close to the Crown Prince, he was excluded from the execution. However, he was stripped of all his power and authority and became enslaved. He was given to Viscount Mackenzie since he is from the countryside, and no one there would recognize Edwin.
Edwin assumed it was some sick game the crown prince was playing on him but soon came to regret his actions. He swears himself to Harrietta staying by her side.
Over a year, they become very close. Harrietta has moved back to Levante as she has come of age to be wed. Little do they know the one she wants to marry is already with her.

In the last chapters, we saw that Harrietta was invited to the Masquerade Ball hosted by the Richconels. It’s a very deal to be invited to this Ball as it’s known for its exclusivity.
We later come to know the real reason for her invitation. It was a ploy by Lady Vivianne Richconel, Ex-Fiance of Edwin, to talk to him once again. Edwin does not want to attend as Harrietta doesn’t want him close to Vivianne. Seeing them soo close almost made Harrietta lose her mind.
But she then apologized to Edwin. Edwin apologized to Harrietta, too, since he didn’t consider Harrietta’s feelings about the matter. However, since Harrietta wants them to talk to each other, things should be fine. The reason for the sudden meeting is that Vivianne thinks that the Redfords are innocent.
The events were a bit too rushed, almost as if they were trying to cover something up.
After reaching the Richconel residence, Harrietta sent the coachmen away so Edwin could get dressed. She didn’t give him a lot of time, but he could dress properly nonetheless.
They head into the Ball with their masks on. While having some champagne, a person approaches them. He seems to be one of Vivianne’s attendants. He has come to summon them toward Vivianne so they can talk.
