Recap
In the previous chapter of The Gangster Baby of the Duke’s Family, we learn about Belluci’s twisted future, which is as sad as it is horrific. Marquis Brineen is a seriously evil person who really has no issues using and throwing people away like disposable tissues. According to the book, Belluci is bound to suffer the same fate.
That is unless Leonora intervenes and saves Belluci since the future is not really set in stone and is bound to change if she does something. Well, it seriously seems like a source of headache for Leonora since she has her plate full of saving Celia’s baby and other kids who are trapped at the shelter.
Belluci leaves, and Celia finally comes in and tells Leonora that she has prepared everything that was requested. Celia is pretty clueless about how dangerous it can get, but Leonora has no intention of telling her. But she doesn’t want to leave Celia’s baby in there either.
Celia was pretty emotional about the entire thing since she was worried that her kid was going to believe that he was abandoned by his mother in the end. Leonora reassures Celia that her kid would understand if she explained herself. Finally, Celia drops Leonora off at the shelter, where the kid Wilhelm greets her.
He takes her to a dingy room that was supposed to be her temporary residence. When she couldn’t see any other kids nearby, Leonora asked him if she could meet the other kids, but he just refused, saying that she could only meet the Marquis if she were evaluated at a high level every week.
