Bethesda has shared new technical details for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on Nintendo Switch 2, confirming the game’s frame rate, resolution targets, supported features, and available editions ahead of its August launch. The announcement follows the recent confirmation that the acclaimed RPG will arrive on Nintendo’s latest console on August 11, 2026.

According to Bethesda, the remaster will run at 30 frames per second in both docked and handheld modes. Players can expect a maximum resolution of 1080p while docked and 900p in handheld mode, with NVIDIA DLSS technology supported in both configurations to enhance image quality.

Switch 2 version includes modern features and multiple control options

Beyond its graphical specifications, Bethesda confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 version will support several platform-specific features. Players will be able to use motion controls, touchscreen functionality, and both left- and right-handed mouse controls, giving users multiple ways to experience the open-world RPG.

The inclusion of DLSS is another notable addition, allowing the game to leverage AI-powered upscaling technology for improved visual quality while maintaining stable performance. Combined with the confirmed 30 FPS target, the feature is expected to help deliver a smoother experience across both docked and portable play.

Bethesda also outlined the contents of each edition. The Standard Edition includes the base game along with the acclaimed Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine expansions, plus additional downloadable content such as Fighter’s Stronghold, Mehrune’s Razor, The Orrery, Horse Armor Pack, and several other DLC packs originally released for Oblivion.

Players seeking extra cosmetic content can choose either the Physical Deluxe Edition or Digital Deluxe Edition. Both include the complete game and all expansions while adding exclusive Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon armor, weapon, and horse armor sets. The physical Deluxe Edition also ships with the full base game on cartridge.

With its technical specifications now confirmed and pre-order editions detailed, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is shaping up to be one of the biggest third-party RPG releases coming to Nintendo Switch 2 later this summer.
