Looks like the Archduke is cursed. One after another, all his brides die. How many is that? The seventh has recently died. His curse has killed yet another innocent bride and this is the story of the Eighth Bride.
The Archduke, Gabriel, was known to be a heartless and cruel man. People said that he had murderous blood running in him. Until the day his heart breaks, he shall remain cursed for all eternity!
After the death of his seventh bride, he instructs his man to dismiss all the guests and to lock everything. From that day forth, no one is to be allowed into the castle.
After thirty years, however, comes the young lady. It probably was a mistake on her side. The castle had become the complete opposite of what she had expected. She had just followed the directions the townspeople gave her.
The weather was nice in town earlier, but the air around the castle was something very different from natural. Does the young lady really have to go when she has heard about the Archduke killing his seven previous brides? Will she be the eighth one?
Previously on The Eighth Bride Chapter 18: Recap
Previously in The Eighth Bride Chapter 18, we saw that the Archduke and his wife had reached the inn safely now. But there was a problem; or maybe not. There were not enough free rooms in the inn for them to go separately. They will have to now share a room.
The Archduke agrees, and the owner of the inn apologizes. Well, what could his Grace do? It was partially his fault that all the rooms at the inn were occupied. His majesty was to host a ball, after all.
Due to the ball being held in honor of the Archduke’s marriage, the guests were all resting at the inn that night. Also, traveling in carriages at night is surely dangerous.
The Archduke then rests his wife down on the bed and orders food. The owner worries her Grace, get her warm soup. The Archduke tells him that there is no need for concern and that he can withdraw from the sight.
The owner lets the newlyweds be. The Archduke then tries to wake his wife, Marie, as she has not eaten anything in the past two days. Unable to wake her up, he decides to let her be and instead just wait until she wakes up by herself.
We then saw the preparations being made by the Archduke as he was hosting the ball the next day. Will Marie wake up all active for the ball? Hopefully, she does not fall ill at this ball, as all the people’s attention will be on the Archduke and his wife. They will be the main leads and the talk of the town.
