We will see Giulio in full wrath directed towards Lorenzo as Hana swims to her death in the upcoming chapters. However, the male lead has changed a lot since he met Hana at the beginning of the series. He will go through another change in The Dilettante Chapter 40 as Hana puts herself in danger in the ocean.
This whole affair started when Hana wanted to look into the death of her twin brothers. Her only lead for the case was that the local mafia boss was involved in it, but her feelings wavered once she got a look at him. It was a love at first sight, the start of a romance story.
However, the premise had pinned them as people from opposite spectrums and, thus, a need for conflict between the two for their relationship to take off. And followed by that, we see the usual tropes and story beats taking place in a generic love story. The duality of the male lead, along with him being the top dog to the place he belongs.
Recap
The Dilettante Chapter 39 had a lot more dialogue than usual, along with the usual thriller story in the mix. Hana has made her intentions clear and stated that she will get the syringe, which will help her be monitored. The process of which was followed by her getting the needle from her now friend Lorenzo, a person close to Giulio.
There were some questions raised on whether or not Hana should get the device put inside her bloodstream. Lorenzo was the one that nudged the question at her friend’s way, but Hana was determined to get it and leave the place. Then, once the whole procedure is over, Lorenzo talks to Hana on the rooftop and asks what the female lead feels about Guilio.
They had a conversation in private, so private that even the readers aren’t made aware of what is going on. But this is a usual trick in stories, where some party of info is hidden to be revealed much later. And given the events at the end of the chapter, this little secret will have big value later.
The Dilettante Chapter 40 Spoilers
The Dilettante Chapter 40 will start with the Mafia boss being angry towards Lorenzo. However, the reader feels in tune with the head of killers for the most part, and his being angry makes them appreciate him more. Given this target is Yumejoshi, that is not a surprising outcome, and these stories would work only if the male lead is appealing.
Aside from our small tangent, we will be given more info on what fate has in store for Hana. We might even be shown a bit of a flashback as to why the male lead has gotten enraged at his close confidant. Guilio will explain in loud words that Hana is headed toward her head if she continues.
We will then be shown that Hana had a plan of her own when this all began. She had gotten the syringe not for the same disease but for people to keep track of her through nanotech. The female lead will be out of danger sooner than later.
