Over ten years, the reality TV show The Curse of Oak Island garnered a sizable following by using massive machinery to reveal what lay beneath the frigid, damp, and marshy island. With a range of artifacts unearthed across ten seasons, the tenth season of The Curse of Oak Island left us wondering if the Langina brothers and their team would return for another season.
Two brothers named Rick and Marty Lagina are expert explorers and treasure hunters who are deeply passionate about finding mysterious myths and unclaimed riches. The Curse of Oak Island revolves around these important figures.
They dig the soil of the island for hidden treasures using the newest technologies and their love of engineering and history. The show follows a range of experts as they work together to study Oak Island in addition to Rick and Marty.
Recap
The Curse of Oak Island team has found the longest tunnel ever dug on the island. It stands an incredible seven and a half feet tall, and the lads are positive that something large and important had to have been moved through the tunnel.
The Curse of Oak Island, Episode Three With the launch of Season 11 last night came many fresh and intriguing revelations. On Lot 5, Gary Drayton and Rick Lagina found an old ramrod guide that was probably built in the 1600s or 1800s and used for putting rounds into muskets.
However, the show’s most fascinating discovery on Friday night was the mysterious subterranean tunnel. In their search to find a tunnel, they believe it runs beneath the Garden Shaft from east to west and into the Baby Blob. The guys have been making remarkable strides! Slightly over a hundred feet below the surface, the party thinks the tunnel will bring them to a secret chamber where they can find enormous treasures.
On yesterday night’s broadcast, Craig Tester was informed of the results of a Carbon-14 dating on a piece of wood that was pulled up from 108 feet east of the garden shaft. The guys were not disappointed in the dates of the woodcuts, with 55% falling between 1734 and 1804 and 24% between 1656 and 1684.
The tunnel was most likely constructed as early as the 1730s, more than 50 years before the Money Pit, which the depositors most likely built, was originally found based on how the scientists evaluated the data.
And what a tunnel that turned out to be! Again, when the drill team shifted their rig somewhat nearer to the Garden Shaft while staying on the eastern side, they discovered signs of a tunnel.
At 108 feet, they dragged up a big wooden beam that measured seven and a half feet. Terry Matheson immediately identified it as an upright beam, meaning that this tunnel was the tallest they had found, at around eight feet.
There were signs that the beam had been hand-cut, presumably using an adze tool, suggesting that it was created before the invention of mechanical saws.
The lads were amazed at how big this beam was. They wondered why someone would dig a seven-and-a-half-foot tunnel more than a hundred feet below the surface unless they needed to transfer a lot of stuff and wanted to do it in secret.
