Shogakukan’s Sunday Webry manga website shared news on Monday regarding Minoji Kurata’s Kusuriya no Hitorigoto: Mao Mao no Kōkyū Nazotoki Techō manga, an adaptation of Natsu Hyūga’s The Apothecary Diaries light novel series.
Kurata, who welcomed a new addition to the family in January, will be taking a break from manga to focus on childcare. However, fans can expect the manga to resume its serialization sometime this summer.
The manga first debuted in Shogakukan’s Monthly Sunday GX magazine back in August 2017 before expanding its reach to Sunday Webry in December 2018. Shogakukan has since released 18 compiled volumes, with the first hitting shelves in February 2018.
Interestingly, there’s another manga adaptation of The Apothecary Diaries, courtesy of Nekokurage, which began its serialization journey in Square Enix’s Monthly Big Gangan magazine in May 2017. Square Enix Manga publishes this version in English, with the 13th volume recently hitting stores on March 25.
The original light novel series by Natsu Hyūga traces its roots back to the online platform “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” in October 2011. It gained enough traction to make the leap to print, courtesy of Shufunotomo, starting in August 2014. Touko Shino adds illustrations to enhance the reading experience.
