The Amazing Race Canada Season 9 Episode Recap and Review:
While all ten teams put their best foot forward, the race was about to begin. We saw the contestants rush towards Esplanade Riel to find their first clue; later, the teams were tasked with signing up for a flight that would take them to Calgary, Alberta, where further hints were waiting for the players.
With the challenges getting hefty, the contestants were met with the task of rappelling down the Central Library of Calgary while searching for their next clue. But this fresh start also came to its first elimination in Season 9, as we saw Gail and Gisele being the last duo to finish the race at the Peace Bridge, thus getting eliminated in Season 9, Episode 1.
The teams had to complete a series of tasks while traveling through different locations to find their next clue. In Leg 5, the teams were assigned to sign in for a bus that would take them to the town harbor in Ucluelet, where the players were met with their next clue after a Tarot reading.
The show also had a challenge that advertised the sponsors of the show, as the players were given the task of swimming down the ocean to reclaim three ingredients from an energy drink. Towards the end of the challenge, one of the team members had to perform a dance pose while hanging from a tree to receive the next clue.
With Gracie and Lily being the last team to arrive at the location, the duo gets eliminated in episode 5.
In episode 8, the leg began with the teams finding their hints, which would lead them to a research center, where they received their further hint after looking for the clue on a piece of metal under a microscope.
As the competitors went to and fro with their challenges, towards the end of the episode, the teams were tasked with trailing a mountain and then decoding the hint for their next pit stop.
