The Amazing Race Canada Season 9 Episode 4 Recap
Teams are given a Chevy Trailblazer RS and told to drive it to Horseshoe Bay to catch a ferry to Vancouver Island. When Justin and Jermaine strut onto the ferry, the other teams are shocked.
When the teams get to Nanaimo, they have to drive 80 km to Malahat Skywalk, where they have to use an app on their mobile phones to book a hotel for the night and Skywalk tickets for the next morning.
And in the morning, teams must use another phone to take pictures of ten driftwood animal sculptures around the base of the Skywalk tower.
Lily and Gracie and Jaspan and Derek show each other sculptures they missed. Kat and Ty and Anwar and Ben do the same thing, and they leave first. Tyler, Kayleen, and Derpal come in next, then Joel and Shayla, Lily and Gracie, and Justin and Jermaine. Amanda and Devin come in last.
A Race Drive
Teams must now drive 40 km to Craigdarroch Castle in Victoria, which is supposedly celebrating the release of Haunted Mansion by Disney. In this part, the teams will have to movie’s trailer, and look for ten possible replica props they might see inside the castle.
Then, they will look around the castle and remember which rooms the props are in. Then, they will go outside and look at the floor plan of the castle. They will have to correctly match where the props are to get the next clue.
While other teams just pick things out of the trailer at random, Derpal goes outside to look at the list of things they need to find and then goes back inside to search the mansion for those things in particular.
Derpal’s choice pays off, and they are the first ones to reach the end. Ben and Anwar will finish up the Haunted Mansion promo after Ty and Kat, Gracie and Lily, and Tyler and Kayleen do.
Face Off
Face Off is the answer to the next clue. Teams must go to Esquimalt’s Colville Park and help the Canadian Scottish Regiment set up a bell tent for ten people. Teams will be in charge and soldiers will only help them if they tell them what to do. The first team to move on is the one that sets up their tent right.
Now, the teams have to drive 35 km to Sooke. One person on the team will get on a paddleboard while their partner helps them find three luggage tags that are part of one of ten great Expedia trips. When they have all three tags, they will get the last piece of information.
Derek finds the right tags before Lily gets on the paddle board. Gracie decides to change their trip because they already have tags for the trip they were going to take.
With Joel and Amanda in the water, there are only two teams left. It’s a tight race. But Deven and Amanda get their tags first, which is enough to get them to the Pit Stop as Team #7. That means that Shayla and Joel are the last ones left, and they are eliminated.
