Amazing Race Australia, an Australian counterpart of the international Amazing Race series, is a reality game show about adventure. According to the concept of previous incarnations of the genre, the show follows two-person teams as they race across the world.
As part of the race, which is broken up into legs, teams must decipher clues, navigate foreign territory, interact with locals, accomplish physical and mental activities, and travel by aircraft, boat, car, taxi, and other modes of transportation. Teams are gradually eliminated if they are the last to arrive at scheduled Pit Stops at the end of most legs. The winning team receives a $250,000 cash reward for crossing the finish line first.
The Amazing Race Australia 6 is the Australian adaptation of the American television show The Amazing Race, now in its sixth season. The episode airs on Network 10 and is the seventh of the current season. Teams must produce and deliver a platter of cheese arepas before selling 20,000 pesos worth of fruit to people in coastal Cartagena. Finally, they must learn the complex Colombian salsa. Teams confront several hurdles as they race through the rainforest and crowded streets of Belize before embarking on a difficult Eat or Beat Detour. Then, one team is eliminated in a heart-pounding footrace to the finish line.
To prevent having their race ruined, teams return to school and choose between a game of Pok-A-Tok and an old number problem. Finally, they must memorize the intricate Mayan calendar’s months. Before a huge coco loco Roadblock on the picturesque island of Caye Caulker, teams must pick between learning a native dance and attempting a hair-braiding task.
Teams must consume edible bug food, take aim at pinatas, and construct rope out of henequen plants in Campeche, a coastal city in Mexico. This is followed by a spiritual plunge into a nearby sinkhole. Teams get to create cactus tacos, perform with a mariachi band, and sing a verse of the traditional song La Cucaracha in Merida, Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, where the Day of the Dead is celebrated in grand style.
Teams must practice their sewing abilities on this leg before ziplining into a cenote to meet Beau at the Pit Stop. They also learn traditional Yucatan dance and use a local landmark to solve a riddle. Team members have a joyride through the skies as the racers return to Australia, make noise at Perth’s Bell Tower, and experience virtual reality as they make their way to the pit stop.

On October 4, 2022, The Amazing Race Australia Season 6 Episode 20 will air. The episode displays Teams traveling by ferry on this WA leg of the race to Rottnest Island to perform a leap of faith, honor a local hero, and spend time in the stocks before meeting Beau at the Pit Stop.
