This unique dance actually has a heartwarming origin story. During a recent podcast interview, Long revealed the inspiration behind his signature move.
Fun Entrance Origin Revealed
“My grandson, who’s 19 now, used to love to bop up and down when he was learning to walk,” Long shared. “One night on TV, his playful dance came to mind as my music played.”
Long decided to have some fun and started doing the dance himself at the entrance. Little did he know, Vince McMahon loved it! Vince McMahon encouraged Long to keep doing the dance.
“Vince saw me do it and yelled, ‘Do that dance!'” Long recalled. “That’s how it all started!”
Interestingly, Long’s signature “playa” catchphrase also has an unexpected source. He once used the word “playa” while talking about his pet dog, and it stuck!
