Taylor Sheridan’s new series *Landman*, starring Billy Bob Thornton and Jon Hamm, will premiere on Paramount+ on November 17, 2024, with a double episode.
Subsequent episodes will air on Sundays. First-look photos have been released, showcasing the oil drama’s main characters.
“Landman,” based on Christian Wallace’s 11-part podcast “Boomcast,” is set in modern-day West Texas and delves into the world of fortune-seekers in the oil rig industry.
The series portrays the lives of wildcat billionaires and roughnecks who drive a significant boom in the oil industry, leading to transformative effects on the economy, climate, and geopolitics.
Taylor Sheridan served as an executive producer for “Landman,” which was co-produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions.
In “Landman,” Billy Bob Thornton stars as Tommy Norris, a crisis executive at an oil company. Jon Hamm portrays Monty Miller, a Texas oil industry titan with a long professional relationship with Norris.
Ali Larter plays Norris’ ex-wife, while Demi Moore appears as Cami, a friend of Norris and the wife of another major figure in the oil industry.
The series also features Michael Peña, Andy Garcia, Jacob Lofland, and Michelle Randolph in supporting roles.
“Landman,” created by Taylor Sheridan and based on the podcast “Boomcast,” is a series set in modern-day West Texas that explores the oil industry.

The series was ordered by Paramount+ in 2022, filmed in Fort Worth, and consists of 10 episodes. It has been renewed for a second season, set to begin production in 2025.
Sheridan, known for creating “Lawman: Bass Reeves” and “Yellowstone” spinoffs “1883” and “1923,” will also see “Yellowstone” Season 5B debut on November 10 without Kevin Costner.
Additionally, Sheridan’s spy series “Lioness” has been renewed for a second season, featuring Zoë Saldaña and Genesis Rodriguez.
