Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen, stars of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, have sparked rumors of a breakup after they shared separate and seemingly sad Christmas celebrations.
On December 25, Taylor, 30, posted a tearful video on TikTok, captioning it, “Chaos to pure silence. Wouldn’t wish this pain upon anyone.” She advised her followers to face their pain rather than avoid it, writing, “If you’re there, take a drive, scream, cry, feel the pain, because I promise to avoid it will make it much worse.”
In her caption, she mentioned, “I was told you got through this once, you’ll get through it again. #coparenting #loss #relationships.” One follower commented that they had come across Taylor’s TikTok via Dakota’s post. Taylor responded, referencing their eight-month-old son, Ever, by saying, “Just happy he can have his day with him.”
Meanwhile, Dakota shared a video on December 24, where he was seen wrapping presents alone. He wrote, “Wrapping presents alone. But I am sober and can be there for my son’s first Christmas.” In a follow-up post, Dakota shared, “He is the only gift I’ll ever need in my life. I love being a dad.”
Fans of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives are familiar with Taylor and Dakota’s tumultuous relationship. The first season of the show revealed that the couple learned they were expecting their first child together, but Taylor later suffered an ectopic pregnancy.
The season finale showed footage of Taylor’s February 2023 arrest for domestic violence. Taylor was charged with aggravated assault, child abuse with injury, and other related offenses. She later pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, while the other charges were dropped.
In a later interview, Taylor admitted her discomfort with her children watching the show, especially during moments that made her anxious. She also expressed that it was difficult for her to watch the painful ups and downs with Dakota on the show, emphasizing that everything on the show was real.
As cameras resumed filming, Taylor was pregnant with their son, Ever. Reflecting on their relationship, Taylor admitted that watching the series back was emotionally difficult, as it captured their genuine feelings during challenging moments. Taylor also revealed that the couple was uncertain about their future, saying, “We are not fully together but not fully done.”
Despite the drama, Taylor hoped that the audience would see Dakota’s “good soft side,” which she felt wasn’t fully showcased on the show. Season 2 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is set to air in 2024, with Taylor and Dakota continuing to navigate their relationship’s complexities.
