Tales, A show that brings your favorite music to life, is back again with another season this year. An Irv Gotti production, Tales first aired in June 2017. The wide success of the series led to announcements of another 2 seasons.
This series shows the darker, lesser-known side of walking the path of fame. With each episode being based on a song, It’s a true anthological series. Not all episodes have a dark approach, though, as it visualizes the song by creating a short movie based on the lyrics and vibes of the song.
Irv Gotti, who has been responsible for many hits by artists such as Jennifer Lopez and Kanye West, wanted to make a show that would create a world that’s made out of Hit song lyrics. The 3rd season premiered on August 9th, 2022.
Tales: Visualization of Musical Hits
With Songs like XO Tour Life, Moonlight, and Jesus walks, to name a few, Irving Gotti’s world of music is based on the story behind these all-time hits. He uses his interpretation and imagination to create 40 Minute episodes that Give a different experience than just listening to them.
The First season covered songs like F The Police, Trap queen, Cold-hearted, and so on. It gained a lot of positive views due to the interesting and different way of storytelling this show does. Each episode is completely different from the other, with some dealing with the reality of life, Murder, and deceit, and some just being laid-back short films with a story to tell.
Tales Season 3 Episode 9: Recap Of “Jesus Walks” Episode
In the Last episode, which premiered on September 20th, The 2004 song “Jesus Walks” (by Kanye West) was chosen as the song of inspiration.
The main character Jewel, 25, is an aspiring singer who wants to be known worldwide for her music. She sings Gospel songs for the church and has a loving boyfriend but getting into a record label deal has always been her dream.
Her friends take her out to eat, but her mom tells her that Jewel has been selected to audition for a Gospel song contest. At the Cafe, her friends talk about her music and how her voice is good enough to be recognized globally.
Later that day, she gets contacted by Derek, a Music Producer. He invites her and her friends over to perform a song. After Jewel’s performance is done, He gets up and walks over to her and says she is a perfect fit for an upcoming Star. The next day, her boyfriend (who knows what happened) asks her if this is what she thinks is the right path to follow. Jewel brushes him off and leaves.
That night she visited the Music Producer to discuss the songs she would be singing. She wakes up in his bed the next day, unable to remember how she ended up here. Derek lets her know that she drank a lot, but Jewel disagrees. He gives her a copy of the song he wrote for her. Its lyrics are not her type, but she agrees to sing it for fame.
Jewel and Derek get into a relationship, and he organizes a party for her. At the party, Jewel meets Shay, a singer with a few hits. Shay lets her know that Derek is only using her and would throw her away after he’s done using her.
Shay is not wrong, as Jewel soon finds him cheating on her with her best friend, which causes her to call off the contract. Derek, to take revenge, leaks her images which leads her to be depressed. She consumes pills and is about to die, but she sees her boyfriend and returns to life when her mom rescues her.
Tales Season 3 Episode 10: Release Date
The next episode of the series, Titled “Survival of the fittest” (song by Mobb Deep and Sick Of it all), is set to release on September 27th, 2022. New episodes of the show are released every week on Tuesdays.
