Tales of Eternia Remastered launched on October 16, 2026, bringing the classic action RPG to modern consoles and PC with new gameplay options and presentation settings. Published by Bandai Namco Entertainment America, the remastered release aims to make the beloved 2001 Tales series entry more accessible to newcomers while preserving its original experience for longtime fans.
The game is available now on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam. Players can switch between remastered and original visuals and sound effects, allowing them to choose how they want to experience the adventure.
Beyond its presentation options, Tales of Eternia Remastered introduces several quality-of-life features, including adjustable encounter frequency, experience-gain settings, destination icons, and faster combat. The release also adds new difficulty options and recovery features designed to give players greater control over their journey.
The remaster revisits one of the franchise’s earlier entries, which was originally released in North America as Tales of Destiny II in 2001.
TALES OF ETERNIA REMASTERED ADDS NEW COMBAT AND DIFFICULTY OPTIONS
The remaster includes a Boost feature that lets players adjust experience gained and encounter frequency. Destination icons can also be toggled on or off, making it easier to navigate the game’s world without permanently changing the original exploration experience.
Combat receives several additions as well. Players can use a high-speed mode during Auto-mode battles, while Battle Retry and Quick Recovery provide additional options when encounters become challenging. Extreme difficulty is available from the beginning, and an even tougher Unknown difficulty level unlocks after completing the game.
The new Graphics Mode and SFX Mode allow players to switch between updated presentation and the original visuals and sound effects. These options give fans a way to revisit the classic while letting new players experience it with modern conveniences.
Tales of Eternia Remastered follows Reid Hershel, Farah, Keele, and Meredy on a journey to prevent the catastrophic event known as the Grand Fall. The story takes place in Eternia, where two interconnected worlds, Inferia and Celestia, face the threat of a destructive collision.
To stop the disaster, the group must seek the power of the Greater Craymels and harness the abilities of elemental spirits. Their journey brings them into contact with memorable characters while testing their relationships and resolve.
