Bandai Namco Filmworks has confirmed that a brand-new Gundam anime series will be officially revealed during San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2026, giving fans their first look at the next chapter in the legendary mecha franchise. The announcement will take place during the “GUNDAM Showcase 2026 – Unveil the Next Gundam” panel on Thursday, July 23, making it one of the biggest Gundam events scheduled for this year’s convention.
The panel will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. PT in Room 6BCF at the San Diego Convention Center. Bandai Namco Filmworks said special guests from Japan will appear to reveal the new anime series and discuss the future of the Gundam franchise. For fans unable to attend in person, the company has also announced a separate worldwide streaming program that will reveal the same new-title information shortly after the panel concludes.
SDCC panel to reveal Gundam’s next anime project
The upcoming presentation will serve as the centerpiece of Gundam’s presence at SDCC 2026. While Bandai Namco Filmworks has yet to reveal details about the new series, the company confirmed that the panel will focus entirely on introducing the franchise’s next anime installment.
Attendees will also receive exclusive Gundam-themed merchandise while supplies last, including a Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe mini poster, a T-shirt, a Gundam Card Game GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT promotional card, an inflatable Beam Saber, a 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam Workshop Kit Ver., a Gunpla shopping bag, a Gundam headband, and an introductory booklet.
Gundam booth, Gunpla workshop, and worldwide stream announced

Beyond the panel, Bandai Namco Filmworks will host a dedicated Gundam booth featuring displays for the upcoming GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT video game, which was announced in June, alongside exhibits tied to the newly revealed anime. Visitors can also take photos with Gundam statues and GUNPLA-kun, purchase event-exclusive merchandise, and receive additional giveaways.
The company will also run a free Gunpla-building workshop throughout the convention. Hosted at Mezzanine 19, the activity begins approximately 30 minutes after the exhibit hall opens each day. Participation is free, although seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Fans unable to attend SDCC can still follow the announcement through GUNDAM CHANNEL INTL, which will premiere a special program on July 23 at 11:00 a.m. PT (2:00 p.m. ET). Bandai Namco Filmworks clarified that the broadcast is not a live stream or recording of the panel but will feature the same new anime announcement shared during the event.
