Manga creator Mifumi Inaba recently revealed on their social media account that the Karakai Jozu no (Moto) Takagi-san manga, a spinoff of Soichiro Yamamoto’s Teasing Master Takagi-san, is nearing its conclusion.
This spinoff follows Takagi and Nishikata after marriage, with a daughter named Chi. Scheduled to end in five chapters or at the series’ 314th installment.
The story offers an insight into the couple’s married life and parental adventures. Inaba began the spinoff in Shogakukan’s Manga ONE back in July 2017, with the 21st volume published on May 10.
A related spinoff titled Karakai Jozu no Nishikata-san debuted in Shogakukan’s Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine.
This manga shifts focus to Chi, Takagi and Nishikata’s daughter, as she explores middle school life and playful interactions with a classmate. The spinoff is set to run for ten chapters.
Yamamoto initially launched the original Teasing Master Takagi-san manga in Gessan mini before moving to Gessan in 2016.
The series concluded serialization in October 12, with the 20th volume released in January. Notably, the manga’s popularity has led to three anime seasons, a film adaptation, and various other manga spinoffs.
A live-action series premiered on Netflix and TBS channel in Japan, while a live-action film, set a decade after the manga’s events, hit theaters in May.
