Thops asked him if Aseo was going to Raya Lucaria, and when he learned he was, he advised him to learn some sorcery because Thops was happy to share his knowledge with Aseo to make up for his generosity. Aseo did not want to give him ten more runes, but he had no other option. He then remembered Sir Bernahl. He realised that sometimes weirdos were surprisingly powerful and were sure he could teach him some awesome sorcery. So he decided to give him ten more runes. Thops asked if he got his hopes up and explained that none of his spells is that great. But he also admitted that he could not expect too much with just ten runes.
Aseo was getting more and more frustrated with Thops. He asked him to take a good look at Aseo’s face and told him that there was no doubt even a blunt stone like him could see that his intelligence was higher than his. Aseo was not very confident, so he did not want the guy to rub the dummy title on him, but the Thops surprised him by complimenting his intelligence.
Thops let Aseo borrow his staff and assured him that he would master it in no time. Aseo did not see that coming, and he wished Meli Meli was there with him too. When Thops began his sorcery lessons, he pointed out that memory was the most important part of sorcery. He handed him a scroll and told him to follow it step by step, and it seemed like he did not know much about sorcery himself.
Aseo then noticed that even Thops was not very smart himself, and he had high expectations for him. Aseo tried glinting stone pebbles and then was complimented on the fact that Aseo was a natural, and it took him years to master that. Aseo mentioned it was starter sorcery, so why did it take him years to ask Thops to tell him about his intelligence.
