Former BIGBANG member T.O.P’s agency, TOPSPOT Pictures, has issued an official apology after one of the singer’s longest-running fansites announced that it would shut down after nearly two decades of supporting him.

The decision by CHOIDOT, also known as Choi Seunghyun.com, has sparked renewed discussion about communication between artists, entertainment agencies, and their dedicated fan communities.

The fansite announced its closure on October 9, 2026, ending an association that began on August 24, 2006.

In its statement, the administrators expressed disappointment over what they described as a lack of accountability, insufficient communication, and an expectation that fans would continue contributing their time and resources without adequate support.

The announcement came amid recent attention surrounding T.O.P’s personal life and his solo activities.

However, the fansite stressed that its decision was based on broader concerns about how the artist and his agency handled fan engagement, rather than simply being a reaction to his reported relationship with actress Nana.

Following the announcement, TOPSPOT Pictures released an apology on October 10, promising to reconsider its communication practices and take fans’ feedback more seriously.

CHOIDOT had documented and supported T.O.P’s career since 2006, making its decision to close a significant development for longtime fans.

In its farewell statement, the administrators said they could no longer overlook what they perceived as the artist and agency’s failure to acknowledge fans’ concerns or take sufficient responsibility.

The fansite also questioned the balance between the support fans provide and the communication they receive in return.

According to its statement, fans had continued waiting for and supporting T.O.P’s activities, but the anticipated performances and opportunities for direct engagement surrounding his solo album Another Dimension had not materialized to the extent they expected.

The administrators further claimed that the lack of established official inquiry channels, community spaces, and email contact options had left fan-operated platforms handling practical responsibilities, including responding to questions from international supporters.

They also shared email exchanges with agency representatives as part of their criticism.

Another point of contention was the cancellation of a planned fan exhibition.

The fansite said it had prepared an event intended for approximately 300 participants, but reservations fell short of expectations, creating financial pressure that ultimately made proceeding with the exhibition difficult.

Because the cancellation coincided with reports about T.O.P’s relationship with Nana, some online discussions connected the decision to fans’ reactions to his personal life.

However, the administrators rejected that interpretation, maintaining that low participation, financial concerns, and dissatisfaction with the communication system were the central reasons behind the cancellation and eventual closure.

The fansite concluded by emphasizing that fan dedication should not be taken for granted and that supporters deserve to have their concerns heard.

TOPSPOT Pictures Promises to Improve Communication With Fans

Following the announcement, TOPSPOT Pictures addressed the growing concerns through an official statement posted on October 10.

The agency thanked longtime supporters and acknowledged that its communication had not met fans’ expectations.

“We deeply apologize to the fans who have waited all this time that news of activities and communication have not reached you sufficiently, causing disappointment and regret,” the agency stated.

TOPSPOT Pictures also promised to listen more closely to feedback and incorporate fans’ opinions into the artist’s activities and overall management.

It added that it would review its communication methods and share details of improvements through official channels once plans had been established.

Although the statement acknowledged fans’ disappointment, it did not provide specific explanations for each concern raised by CHOIDOT or announce a detailed schedule for upcoming changes.

As a result, questions remain about how the agency intends to address the issues identified by the longtime fansite.

T.O.P rose to prominence as a member of BIGBANG before pursuing acting and other solo projects.

His recent activities have attracted renewed attention, including the release of his solo album Another Dimension and reports concerning his relationship with Nana.

The closure of CHOIDOT marks the end of a lengthy chapter in T.O.P’s fan community.

Whether TOPSPOT Pictures’ apology and promised changes will rebuild confidence among longtime supporters remains to be seen.

For now, the situation has highlighted the importance of consistent communication and meaningful engagement between artists, agencies, and the fans who support their careers.
