Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 4 has reached its conclusion with an extended 45-minute finale, bringing the anime’s latest major storyline to an emotional close. The episode concludes the “Recapture Arc,” which followed Natsuki Subaru and his allies as they ventured into the dangerous Auguria Dunes and fought to reclaim what had been lost after the battle in Priestella.
To mark the Season 4 finale, the official anime team has released a new Re:ZERO epilogue visual featuring Subaru and Rem. The visual carries the emotional tagline, “Rem, I missed you so much.”, as Rem looks toward Subaru with wide, emotional eyes.
The finale also includes special comments from Yusuke Kobayashi, the voice of Subaru, and Inori Minase, the voice of Rem. Both performers reflected on the significance of Rem’s awakening and shared their excitement about the story’s future.
Re:ZERO Season 4 Finale Celebrates Rem and Subaru’s Reunion
The new epilogue visual directly highlights one of the most anticipated developments in Re:ZERO. Rem has remained in an unending sleep since the events surrounding the Watergate City of Priestella, after the Authority of Gluttony affected her.
Kobayashi reflected on Subaru’s journey and the sacrifices made along the way, writing,
“Welcome back. I missed you so much.”
He also expressed his desire to discuss the emotions surrounding the finale further through radio appearances and events.
Minase similarly described the reunion as an emotional payoff after years of waiting.
“We finally got to meet again,”
the Rem voice actress said, adding that she was also among those who had been waiting for this moment.
She further described Rem’s return as the result of a future reached through refusing to give up and continuing to fight back. Minase said she wanted to remain immersed in the emotion of the reunion for a little longer before looking ahead to what comes next.
The Pleiades Watchtower Journey Comes to an End
Season 4 began with the aftermath of the deadly battle at Priestella. Subaru and his allies achieved victory, but the consequences were devastating, with Rem trapped in an endless sleep while Crusch’s memories and Julius’s name were consumed by the Authority of Gluttony.
Searching for answers, Subaru learned about Shaula, a mysterious wise man said to possess immense knowledge. This led Subaru, Emilia, Beatrice, and their allies toward the Pleiades Watchtower in the uncharted Auguria Dunes.
The journey formed the central conflict of the Season 4 storyline, placing Subaru and his companions against dangerous environments, mabeasts, and other threats. The season was divided into “The Loss Arc,” consisting of 11 episodes, and “The Recapture Arc,” consisting of eight episodes.
The conclusion arrives during a major milestone for the franchise, as the Re:ZERO TV anime celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2026. The original light novel series has surpassed 16 million copies in circulation worldwide, including digital editions.
The anniversary celebrations are expected to continue beyond the Season 4 finale, with additional events and projects planned around the franchise.
