Supermarket Stakeout Season 5 Episode 1 release date is making fans very excited. After four successful seasons of the reality culinary competition series, we see that Food Network had to commission yet another season for their channel. Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli is the one who presents the series. With every episode, we witness four chefs taking part in the game.
They have to create a dish from the groceries that they go on to purchase from customers. Each of them is provided 500 dollars to shop from the local supermarkets. Initially, the chef who won the round had a chance to win 10,000 US dollars. But in the most recent episodes, we see that this prize has been changed. Now, the winner will be awarded a year’s worth of grocery money.
As for the competition taking place in every episode, we see it going through three rounds each. There is also a panel of two judges for the scores. The entire series is filmed in the parking lot of a supermarket. Each of the chefs taking part is provided their own separate stations to work at and cook the food. The chefs are given 500 dollars to purchase the necessary groceries from the customers who are leaving the supermarket.

Sometimes, there is an additional stock also present for the chefs to use to their benefit. In every round, Alex is the one who decides the type of dish which chefs are required to make. When the timer starts, each of them has just 45 minutes in order to make the required dish. They have two make at least three servings of the same.
The evaluation is made for the same on the basis of the presentation skills as well as the theme that was decided and mainly on how the dishes actually taste like. The chef whose dish is least liked among all is eliminated from the rounds. They must also lose their money.
With every passing round, we see an added restriction on the chefs and rules that makes it even tougher to pass through. In the first round, the chefs have to buy groceries that they have not even seen. Although, they can get the same from as many customers as they want to. With the second round, the customer amount is limited to only one. Although, they have a chance to look inside the bags before making an offer for the same.
In the last round, the chefs have to buy only five items, but they can do so from as many customers as possible. They can also check the bags to see if the ingredients match their theme and criteria. By the end of the timer that is ticking for them, the contestants are presented with a choice to go inside the supermarket and buy one item of their choice if they have the time and money to do so.
