SUPER JUNIOR is expanding its long-running lineup of sub-units with the official debut of SUPER JUNIOR-83z, a new duo featuring LEETEUK and HEECHUL. Announced by SM Entertainment, the unit will release its first mini album, Promise, on July 13, marking a new milestone for one of K-pop’s most influential groups.
The debut project brings together two members born in 1983, giving the unit its name while highlighting the contrasting personalities and performance styles that have made both artists fan favorites for more than two decades. Alongside the album announcement, SM Entertainment confirmed that physical editions of Promise are now available for worldwide pre-order.
The announcement also carries added significance, as pre-orders opened on July 1, which is LEETEUK’s birthday. Following the album’s release, the duo will begin its first fan-con tour across Asia, giving fans multiple opportunities to experience the new unit live.
Promise features six tracks led by its title song
SUPER JUNIOR-83z’s debut mini album, Promise, will include six tracks, headlined by the title song of the same name. One of the album’s songs, “ONSAEMIRO,” has already generated excitement among fans after LEETEUK and HEECHUL performed it during the encore concerts of SUPER JUNIOR’s 20th anniversary world tour in April.
The performance offered audiences an early glimpse of the duo’s chemistry before their official debut. According to SM Entertainment, the project is designed to showcase both the familiar charm that fans associate with the pair and a fresh musical direction unique to the new unit.
SUPER JUNIOR-83z builds its identity around the different personalities, strengths, and stage presence of LEETEUK and HEECHUL. While both artists have established careers across music, television, variety shows, and hosting, this unit aims to present a new dynamic by combining their individual talents into a dedicated project.

Following the release of Promise, SUPER JUNIOR-83z will launch its first fan-concert tour, 2026 SUPER JUNIOR-83z FAN-CON [1983].
The tour opens with three sold-out performances at Olympic Hall in Seoul from July 24 to July 26 before continuing across Asia. Additional stops include Tokyo, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Kaohsiung, Singapore, and Taipei, allowing the duo to connect with fans throughout the region.
The upcoming concerts continue SUPER JUNIOR’s reputation as one of K-pop’s strongest touring acts. Since launching the SUPER SHOW concert series in 2008, the group has completed ten world tours and performed in more than 30 regions across Asia, Europe, and Latin America.
SUPER JUNIOR has achieved several historic milestones throughout its career, including becoming the first Korean group to hold a solo concert in France, the first Asian artist to stage a solo concert in Saudi Arabia, and the first overseas act to perform at Taipei Dome.
The group has also played a major role in popularizing K-pop’s sub-unit system through projects such as SUPER JUNIOR-K.R.Y., SUPER JUNIOR-D&E, SUPER JUNIOR-M, SUPER JUNIOR-L.S.S., and now SUPER JUNIOR-83z.
With Promise arriving on July 13 and its first fan-con tour already drawing sold-out crowds, SUPER JUNIOR-83z is preparing to begin the next chapter in the group’s enduring global legacy.
