Sugar Apple Fairy Tale Episode 9 titled “The Radcliffe Workshop” saw Anne and Challe returning to Lewiston after nine months and the Royal Candy Fair competition is about to begin. Anne is willing to participate in it however, she learns from Kat that the Crop yield of Sugar apples is low this year which has resulted in the ban on harvesting them individually.
Thus, Anne decides to stay at the Radcliffe School temporarily and in order to grow her own Sugar Candys, she heads to the Radcliffe Workshop. There she stumbles on to Jonas and the receptionist Sammy who bullies Anne for her reputation but is intervened by Keith.
In addition to helping Anne from Sammy’s bullying, Keith also helps Challe find out his own space to live by making a confection modeled after Challe. Keith explains that he helped them because he finds Anne’s situation very similar to his own. Being the son of a noble, Keith choose to study at a low-profile school and waited until his father’s death to enter the competition to prove his own worth and not because of his father.
He also feared entering the competition would result in either him winning as a noble’s son or losing as a failure in the family. The next day, Keith reveals to Challe that he finds Anne a perfect opponent for the Royal Candy Fair competition due to her skills and her situation.
