Young-J, leader of the renowned dance crew Just Jerk and a contestant on “Street Man Fighter,” has found himself entangled in controversies surrounding allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a minor and subsequent rumours of pregnancy.
In a recent interview addressing these accusations, Young-J clarified that he began dating his girlfriend after she reached adulthood but remained tight-lipped about the pregnancy and abortion rumours swirling around. Notably, his girlfriend parted ways with Just Jerk in February.
Following these developments, TenAsia’s investigation on April 18 revealed that Young-J has opted to temporarily suspend his teaching activities at the Just Jerk Academy, where he serves as the representative. All dance classes scheduled for this year have been put on hold.
Previously, Young-J conducted classes regularly at the academy’s Hapjeong and Ewha branches. However, a recent announcement from Just Jerk revealed adjustments to the class timetable, with other dancers filling Young-J’s vacant teaching slot.
Confirming the hiatus, the Just Jerk Academy stated that Young-J would not be teaching classes for the remainder of the year, citing his need for a break. Meanwhile, rumours suggest his absence extends beyond classes to his whole presence at the academy.
When questioned about potential marriage plans with his girlfriend during this break, Young-J attributed the pause to “various reasons,” emphasizing that their relationship is thriving under favourable circumstances. However, he evaded questions regarding his girlfriend’s reported pregnancy, citing ongoing commitments.
Despite these personal challenges, Young-J’s contributions to Just Jerk have been pivotal since co-founding the crew with J-Ho in December 2010. Their success culminated in winning Mnet’s “Street Man Fighter” in 2022, solidifying Just Jerk’s esteemed status in the dance industry.
