When will Street Fighter 6 release? In this blog, we will discuss everything we know about Street Fighter 6 in detail. Street Fighter is a fighting video game franchise that started in 1987. Capcom developed the first game for the arcade systems. Street Fighter brought many innovations for fighting games that came after it. The sequel in the franchise called Street Fighter II released in 1991.
One of the best games in the franchise, Street Fighter II is one of the best games during the golden age of arcade video games. Street Fighter II has generated over 10 billion dollars in revenue for the company. Street Fighter III released in 1997 for arcade systems and in 1999 for Sega Dreamcast. This game introduced a cast of all-new characters. The next game in the franchise, Street Fighter IV released in 2008 for Arcade consoles and PC. After the lukewarm response from the third game in the franchise, Capcom worked hard on this game. The first game in the franchise with 3D models, textures, and environments, Street Fighter IV, was critical and commercially successful. Street Fighter V released in 2016 for a PlayStation 4 console exclusivity and PC. The fifth installment was positively received and commercially successful. Street Fighter has spawned other media as well, like manga adaptations, manhua adaptations, comics, movies, spin-off games, live-action movies, etc.
What to Expect From Street Fighter 6
Last week, one of the prominent Japanese game developers and publishers, Capcom, launched a mysterious website. The mysterious website contained nothing but a timer. The timer ended on 21 February. What did it reveal? Capcom, after the end of the timer, revealed the sequel to one of their famous fighting games, Street Fighter.
On the official YouTube channel of Street Fighter, Capcom revealed the next sequel in the entry, Street Fighter 6. Many fans already have speculations that it was Street Fighter 6, as August 2022 will mark the 35th anniversary of the franchise. As of writing this, the trailer has surpassed over two and a half million views on YouTube.
Street Fighter 6 trailer was short and not very much informative. But the trailer, however, did show the new look the game will take. The trailer starts with Ryu’s clenched fist with detail-full gloves. It switches to Ryu’s forearm, again with the details. We then see the upper body of Ryu. Capcom is clearly showing the upgrades, mainly visuals, Street Fighter 6 will bring to the franchise. The lighting and shadows projected on Ryu’s body are worth noticing. The muscular details of characters we can expect, with Ryu as an example, is another thing that Capcom is flaunting about. The trailer then shows another character, which is Luke. Luke then asks Ryu whether he is ready or not. Capcom, even here, is flaunting the details of the game. Luke and Ryu get ready for the fight, where as Luke attacks, the title of the game appears. It is also worth noticing the change in the game’s logo. The trailer ends with nothing else revealed.
