Eddie Munson looks remarkably similar to Robert Downey Jr. in a recent Stranger Things TikTok. Stranger Things premiered on Netflix on May 27 with seven episodes, and volume 2 will premiere on July 1. This season’s villain is Vecna, a new character who has the ability to kill his people when they’re in a trance-like state. The main cast explores the strange happenings in Hawkins, while Eleven collaborates with Dr. Brenner to restore her powers so she may help her friends. Season 4 brought back familiar figures like Hopper and Joyce, but it also featured a few new characters, like Joseph Quinn’s Eddie Munson.
Munson is a year or two older than the other Hawkins High School children, having been held back over several years. Eddie is a bit of an outsider at school as well. He gets alongside Mike and Dustin, who are members of The Hellfire Club, his Dungeons and Dragons organization. When Chrissy, a new role portrayed by Grace Van Dien, begins to be tormented by Vecna, she goes to Eddie to get drugs, but the smart creature kills her. Because Eddie is an outsider and Chrissy Cunningham was murdered in his trailer, the entire town holds him responsible for her killing and launches a savage manhunt to find him.
Was Eddie Munson Meant To Look Like Robert Downey Jr?
After making his debut in season 4, Eddie soon became a fan favorite, and some devotees can’t help but think how much he resembles another well-known actor. Quinn looked nearly identical to Robert Downey Jr. while he was younger, according to a TikTok from bellabellangel1. To demonstrate the actors’ striking resemblance, the user mixed footage from Stranger Things season 4 alongside Downey Jr.’s previous movies.
While the similarities between the two performers are fascinating, fans are more concerned about Eddie’s destiny in Stranger Things season 4 volume 2. Because the primary cast is now older, the Duffer Bros. has previously hinted that no one is safe moving into volume 2. Eddie is a supporting character, therefore it’s probable that he’ll fall victim to Vecna. He will, however, be assisting Nancy, Robin, and Steve on their journey, as he has yet to be spotted playing on his guitar in the Upside Down, as can be seen in one of the teasers for Season 4.
While it’s possible that the Duffer Bros. were inspired by popular ’80s performers when casting Eddie Munson, it’s unclear that Netflix actively sought out an actor that resembled Downey Jr. Although Robert Downey Jr. and Quinn have a striking resemblance, the role was inspired by Damien Echols, who was accused and convicted for the killing of three young boys in part due to the way he looked and listened to music. Echols’ story also served as a crucial illustration of the real-life “Satanic Panic” shown in Season 4 of Stranger Things. While the likeness between Quinn and Robert Downey Jr. may be anything but a coincidence, the Duffer Bros. at least gave Eddie Munson an intriguing backstory that is based on actuality.
Interesting Eddie Munson Theory
Stranger Things 4 has been out for about three weeks, and it has absolutely turned our worlds upside down. Fans have been analyzing every plot piece that the new season has provided us, and theories have been flying thick and fast. On TikTok and Reddit, one idea, in particular, has gone popular, and it involves everyone’s favorite Hellfire Club King Eddie Munson & 010 (Ten), one of Hawkins’s lab children. What is the theory? Some fans believe Eddie is 010.
Eddie is 010, according to a TikTok video that has received over 8.7 million views & 1.2 million likes. Another has accumulated 6.2 million views and tens of thousands of comments. Both videos go over a few details about Eddie, which all point to the possibility that he was once a lab rat at Hawkins lab. Eddie was also unsurprised when Steve told him about Eleven, and her abilities, maybe because he already knows her.
Eddie mentions having “buzzed hair” in the first theory, which is, of course, the typical hairstyle for Brenner’s lab children. Second, some speculate that the wristwatch he wears on his left wrist hides his likely ‘010’ tattoo. Next theory: While we don’t witness any of the kids’ eyes exploding in the opening shot, we do see blood streaks on their faces. Because 010’s face is hidden and never displayed in full on screen, the idea claims that he may have lived in the room with Brenner.
However, there are several facts that indicate that the theories may not be correct. Eddie knew Chrissy in junior high, despite the fact that he had a buzzcut as a kid. Eddie would’ve been in middle school at the time of the lab slaughter, based on his age. He would not have been able to return to normal life as fast if he had survived the attack and accompanying stress. He also wouldn’t have been able to entirely bury the massacre’s memory in such a short period of time.
