The Pittsburgh Steelers have bolstered their receiving arsenal by adding former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Van Jefferson on a one-year deal.
Originally drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft with the No. 57 overall pick, Jefferson spent over three seasons with the Rams. His most notable performance came during the Rams’ Super Bowl run in 2021, where he recorded a career-high 50 receptions for 802 yards and six touchdowns.
During his tenure with the Rams, Jefferson accumulated a total of 101 receptions for 1,499 yards and 10 touchdowns. However, his journey took a turn when he was traded to the Atlanta Falcons in October 2023, as part of a 2025 pick swap between the Rams and Falcons. In his 12 appearances for Atlanta in 2023, Jefferson’s production was limited, tallying just 12 receptions for 101 yards.
Joining the Steelers, Jefferson adds depth to a wide receiving corps headlined by George Pickens and Calvin Austin III. The Steelers recently traded Diontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers, along with pick No. 240, in exchange for cornerback Donte Jackson and pick No. 178 earlier in the week.
