Geoff Johns produced the American superhero television series DC’s Stargirl, also known as Stargirl, which debuted on the DC Universe streaming service. It is based on Courtney Whitmore, a superhero from DC Comics written by Johns and Lee Moder. The show centers on high school girl Courtney Whitmore, who unearths the cosmic staff that Starman once held and serves as an inspiration for a new wave of superheroes to form the Justice Society of America. The series was ordered by DC Universe in July 2018. The casting for Courtney Whitmore’s family, the Justice Society of America, and the Injustice Society of America continued until February 2019 with Brec Bassinger being cast as Courtney Whitmore.
