Star Trek: Discovery Season 4 Episode 8 sees the Discovery crew racing against Tarka and Boot. Recently on the show, the Starfleet came across an anomaly that may be artificially created. For now, they have no idea what kind of species they might be against. Peaceful measures may work, and if not, they have to take aggressive moves moving on. This sees everyone divided. The leaders had to come to a unanimous decision to move forward with anomaly while they had no coordinates of the point of origin.
Apart from that, the team came across a bump when one of their own wanted to withhold information. It wasn’t a person but the ship’s computer Zora. While everyone was worried that Zora could become a threat to them as she knows almost everything. Zora, on her side, proved to be loyal and reliable since she had nothing to hide. All she wanted was to protect them. But still, withholding information for any reason saw her and the Discovery crew on different sides.
Star Trek: Discovery Season 4 Episode 7 Recap
Previously on Star Trek: Discovery, the team of Discovery was planning to approach an anomaly supposedly created artificially. Ship computer Zora played an important and active part in figuring out what it was. Until things took a different turn and Zora decided not to let the crew know the anomaly’s point of origin. Zora believes approaching it would endanger the crew members. Therefore, she won’t be giving away any information moving on.
Meanwhile, Captain Burnham was surrounded by leaders. They came to take a stand for the anomaly. The decision was pretty divided, whether they could approach peacefully by talking things out or taking aggressive measures. Ruon Tarka even came ahead to introduce a device capable of destroying the same anomaly. During the recess, Tarka even tries to convince Book for the same statement he is from an alternate universe. This core inside the anomaly might be able to help him go back home.

Meanwhile, coming back to Zora, the group was looking forward to taking desperate measures. Just in case Zora becomes a major threat to them. There were plans of extracting her consciousness, but Zora came ahead with a solution. Zora told Starfleet about a fail-safe device that would completely remove Zora from Starfleet’s program.
The episode came to an end with the leaders coming to a decision. They are willing to opt for peaceful contact rather than opting for Tarka’s device. Coming to Zora, the Discovery crew realizes how Zora has evolved over time. Zora even has her own dreams now. A matter of trust resulted in Zora giving away the coordinates. The episode came to a close, with Book and Tarka leaving on their own as Burnham watches on.
